Things to Do in Huntsville
Five areas, from the Saturn V to the studios of Lowe Mill.
We split Huntsville into five areas. Downtown and MidCity hold the historic districts, Big Spring Park, museums and the newer entertainment district around the Orion Amphitheater. The U.S. Space and Rocket Center and the botanical garden fill a day on the west side, Monte Sano rises just east of downtown, Madison is the growing city to the west, and Lowe Mill and Campus 805 are the center of the city's arts and brewery scene.
Few tour companies operate in Huntsville, so the bookable options below are mostly tickets and self-guided tours. Most of the city's highlights are easy to visit on your own, and many, from Big Spring Park to the Monte Sano trails, are free or close to it.
